What is the most efficient
way to begin designing a ceiling system?
Before designing a ceiling system, several things should be
considered. First, consider the purpose of the ceiling and how it
will be used. Will it be used as a neutral background or as a
design element? Are acoustics important? What about ceiling plenum
accessibility, light reflectance, and durability? Next, consider
the elements that will affect the look of the ceiling plane such as
HVAC, signage, fire protection and lighting. Then, prioritize your
requirements and select a ceiling system that best fits your

What ceiling panel has the

Our Mars ClimaPlus™, Mars ClimaPlus™ High NRC and Millennia
ClimaPlus™ ceiling panels all provide a smooth, monolithic
appearance and a fine texture.
How can I achieve the look of
a monolithic ceiling?
For a truly smooth, monolithic appearance, we offer our versatile
USG Drywall Suspension System and SHEETROCK® Brand Gypsum Panels.
This look can also be achieved with a drop ceiling, especially when
strong acoustical performance and accessibility are desired. Here's
how: Consider a 12"x12" tile with concealed grid. USG has numerous
12"x12" tiles such as Glacier™, Eclipse, "F" Fissured that work
perfectly with our DONN DX Concealed Suspension System. How about a
metal ceiling? Our Celebration™ Metal Ceiling Panels coupled with

Which applications do I need
ClimaPlus?
ClimaPlus™ is our special humidity-resistant formulation that
withstands up to a maximum of 104°F (40°C)/100% relative humidity
without visible sagging, warping, or shrinking. ClimaPlus™ is
excellent for areas where heat and humidity are major factors. It's
ideal for schools with intermittent HVAC systems, and those closed
for extended times as well as projects where the ceiling system
will be installed prior to full enclosure of the building. Please
refer to individual product data pages for more specific ClimaPlus™
information.
Can I create a ceiling that is
accessible in one area and non-accessible in another
area?
It's definitely possible using the CGC Drywall Suspension
System. Just combine our acoustical lay-in suspension system and
suspended drywall systems. The two suspension systems are fully
integrated and easy to install and maintain.
