Sag Resistance

Back to PRO FAQ's

What is ClimaPlus™?
ClimaPlus™ is a registered trademark of CGC designating a line of products with superior sag resistance. ClimaPlus™ products are available in a number of variations, and are capable of withstanding conditions up to 104° F (40° C)/100% relative humidity without visible sagging, warping, or shrinking.

What CGC products provide sag resistance?
To identify our sag-resistant products, just look for the ClimaPlus™ icon. It usually follows a product name or is enclosed in a gold and black sunburst on packages and in product literature.

Is there a way to prevent ceiling panels from sagging?
Excessive heat and humidity are major causes of sag in ceiling panels. To prevent sag, use CGC ClimaPlus™ ceiling panels and maintain conditions up to 104° F (40° C)/100% relative humidity in a space.

Can sag-resistant ceiling panels be installed before the building is enclosed?
Although the recommended environmental conditions will be met in many instances, it is still not recommended to install ceiling panels before a building is closed in. Changing weather conditions can damage panels and the suspension system, causing rust, corrosion, sag, or warpage.

Is there a warranty on CGC sag-resistant panels?
ClimaPlus™ Ultra panels and tiles, when used with CGC DONN Brand grid, carry a lifetime (30-year) warranty against sagging, warping, or shrinking.
