How many different CGC
suspension systems are available?
CGC offers 16 suspension systems for a variety of applications
and aesthetic appeal.
What is a Quick-Release™
clip?
CGC's patented steel Quick-Release™ clip helps simplify
installation of DX type main tees. The cross tee ends of the clip
allow for easy removal without tools while unique cross tee
override ends resist twisting and eliminate exposed steel
edges.
What is the difference between
single web and double web construction?
The web of a ceiling grid relates to the grid's vertical member
when viewed in the installed position. Some grids have only one
section of metal on this plane and when lights or air diffusers are
installed, the grid could rack or twist. A double web system
provides a stronger balanced section with two pieces of
metal.
Are all CGC suspension
systems double web?
Yes, all CGC suspension systems have a double web
construction.
What face widths are
available?
CGC suspension systems are available in 9/16", 15/16", and 1
1/2" face widths. The 9/16 width is available in a "T" grid or a
Fineline box grid.
What fire-class systems are
available?
All CGC suspension systems are Class A rated for flame spread
and smoke generation. In addition, most of our systems are
available with UL classification for fire resistance. These are
hour-rated classifications. We have more than 300 UL fire-rated
designs ranging from one to three hours.
What CGC DONN® Brand
systems are NOT available for heavy-duty
performance?
CGC offers only one suspension system that is not available in
a heavy-duty rating: DONN Brand AX™ (all aluminum system).
What CGC grid system
offers a monolithic appearance?
CGC concealed grid systems have the most monolithic
appearance. Our Fineline systems offer a more monolithic appearance
when compared to other exposed grid systems.
Does CGC offer concealed
suspension systems?
Yes, our concealed grid systems are offered in intermediate-duty
and heavy-duty ratings.
What is CGC's most
economical grid system?
We offer our DONN® Brand DX grid system with an intermediate-duty
classification (DX24) as an inexpensive option.
Does CGC offer matching
grid and ceiling panels?
At USG, we offer a broad spectrum of colors for our ceiling
products. Our Standard Color program has eight standard colors with
matching suspension systems plus the industry's only Flat Black
(#205) system. Plus our Advantage Color program has 28 distinct,
clear-through panel colors with matching suspension systems that
are sure to provide the color options you need.
Does CGC grid work with
other manufacturers' ceiling panels?
CGCgrid can be used with other manufacturers' ceiling tiles;
however, we are the only manufacturer to offer a lifetime (30-year)
warranty on all DONN® Brand suspension systems when used
with CGC ceiling panels or tiles.
