CGC has been the leading manufacturer of building materials for over a century. We have supplied our ceilings products to endless projects across North America and beyond. The Thunder Bay International airport in Ontario, Canada is one such project.Designed in collaboration between FORM Architecture Engineering and BBB Architects of Ottawa. The Thunder Bay airport was built approximately 80 years ago. Airports are typically transient buildings. The present design will make you want to stay a little longer and enjoy the space.

Wood has long been a product used to create comfortable, warm spaces.In this project, we paired clean lines using our Mars™ acoustical tile with a Compasso™ Slim Perimeter Trim and True® Wood Ceiling Panels. This allows for acoustical control with additional design elements.We were able to provide all the necessary steps from the design stage through to installation. Our complete line of ceilings products along with our knowledgeable architectural and sales support helped bring this project from design to life.CGC's wood ceilings add warmth to a large space while Mars acoustical tile allows for acoustical control to manage the peak hours of an airport.The design showcases the Canadian Shield by utilizing the warmth of wood on the ceilings and stunning cut rock on the walls, mirroring the extraordinary beauty of the Thunder Bay landscape for travelers.The natural veneers of True® Wood panels evoke the natural beauty of the Thunder Bay area and offered a cohesive and elegant ceiling design to the space.
