Christopher Macey is the president and CEO of USG Corporation, where he is focused on the company’s core values of safety, manufacturing innovation and being the easiest building materials manufacturer to do business with. Previously, as COO, Macey was responsible for driving the strategic execution and operational priorities for the company’s U.S. businesses.
Macey joined USG Corporation in 2006 as vice president of sales and marketing for CGC Inc., the company’s Canadian subsidiary. He worked in areas of sales, manufacturing and management while gaining increasing responsibility in his various leadership roles such as general manager and president. During his time at USG, Macey has led all of the company’s business divisions in North America—including CGC in Canada, USG LATAM in Mexico, and the U.S. ceilings and gypsum divisions in the United States. Most recently, Macey served as president, gypsum, leading all strategy, growth and operations for USG’s most profitable business.
He has more than 30 years of experience in the building materials industry, beginning with Owens Corning where he gained experience as a business manager and operations leader. Macey holds a bachelor’s degree from The University of Western Ontario and a master’s degree in business administration from the Ivey Business School at The University of Western Ontario. He is also a graduate of The Wharton School’s Advanced Management Program.
Macey previously served as a supplier representative on The Home Depot Canada’s advisory committee for The Home Depot Foundation and has held various management and coaching roles in competitive youth minor hockey in Ontario, Canada. Macey is based in Chicago, is married to Cathy and they have two adult children who reside in Canada.
