Georgia L. Vlamis brings many years of comprehensive corporate legal experience to her role as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at USG. A seasoned legal strategist, Georgia oversees a broad range of critical functions, including litigation, M&A, antitrust, compliance and intellectual property.
Since joining USG in 2020, Georgia has leveraged her extensive background in strategic alliances, patent litigation, corporate compliance, compensation and benefits, and employee relations to provide strategic legal guidance and support to the company. Before USG, Georgia held key leadership positions at FreightCar America, where she served as general counsel and head of Human Resources as well as Motorola Solutions, where she was vice President and held a variety of different roles. Her career also includes a partnership at the private legal firm Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon and an associate position at Sidley & Austin.
Georgia's academic achievements include a juris doctor from DePaul College of Law, where she was also an editor of the Law Review, and a bachelor of science in business administration, earned with high honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Recognized for her leadership and impact within the legal profession, Georgia was selected as one of the "Women Making an Impact In Law" by the Chicago Law Bulletin. She has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Constitutional Rights Foundation of Chicago and a board member of the American Heart Association, Counsel or a Cause Campaign. Georgia currently sits on the Communities in Schools Leadership Council, demonstrating her commitment to community engagement.
