The expansion to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center–College Hill was designed to house its patients in a place of comfort, healing, and privacy. USG joined the team and helped transform the design for the main lobby from concept to reality.
The USG Donn® Brand Rapid RTQ drawing and estimating services allowed the USG technical support team to provide a bill of materials and shop drawings. They also laid out step-by-step installation instructions for the lobby’s custom curved drywall grid feature with Mars™ Acoustical Ceiling Panels. Individual patient rooms located on three separate floors would be the next challenge for the team, and the design intent called for a smooth, monolithic ceiling with excellent acoustical performance. Prior to installation, and USG representatives conducted a mock installation of the USG Ensemble® Acoustical
Drywall Ceiling system for the contractor to better prepare for the jobsite.
USG and distribution partners coordinated delivery of materials to ensure that the project could begin on schedule. During installation, commercial and contractor representatives from USG were also on-site to answer questions and provide guidance.
This expansion project was a collaborative effort, and Messer Construction, GBBN, Triversity Craft Force, Cincinnati Interiors, Valcom Enterprises, L&W Supply, Foundation Building Materials ensured the project would be built with the highest levels of craftmanship and performance.
