Bonitz frequently hosts A&D professionals in their Raleigh, NC office, but their main foyer and library lacked ceiling systems with a true design vision and acoustic control. What’s more, the library’s existing lighting system was ineffective and did not adequately light the space, leaving little to be desired for both employees and prospective customers.USG joined this office renovation project to help with design iteration, settling on the Design Solutions portfolio of pre-engineered specialty ceilings that can be customized, ordered, and delivered to the jobsite in 8 weeks or less. The main lobby features a suspended Design Solutions - Colortex™ Radialz centerpiece, and the library utilized Design Solutions - Barz® + Brilliance, an integrated lighting system that could be attached to the existing ACT grid.The main entrance of the office has high ceilings, creating a cavernous area overhead that was visually unappealing and devoid of acoustic control. USG’s solution featured three suspended assemblies in three sizes at varying heights to create depth in the previously empty space. The three assemblies were also specified in the brand colors of Bonitz to create even more cohesion throughout the office.In the library, a dim and poorly laid out lighting system created a space that was too dark, and a pre-existing ACT ceiling left questions as to whether the entire system needed to be replaced. USG offered the consultative services of their lighting specialist to properly illuminate the space. Ultimately, the system introduced more intentional lighting to the library and created suitable surroundings for client meetings.Through robust technical support, superior system performance, and simplified installation, USG was able to address the aesthetic and acoustical requirements of the spaces with a quick turnaround to limit interruptions to the typical day-to-day of the office of a longtime partner in Bonitz, delivering an engineered look through a pre-engineered solution.
